Each night when I get house from labor the first thing I do is turn on the window machine A/C in the dining room.
During the afternoon I keep the A/C off to save energy. The way I see it is that if there is nobody in the property there is no reason to cool the house. I don’t like to waste energy & I don’t like to waste money. Turning the window machine A/C on around 6 PM & letting the room cool down until around 10 when I go to bed makes the room comfortable & cold. I typically like to go to sleep in a cold room. The noise from the window machine A/C soothes me to sleep, but last week, I was upset because the window machine A/C was not cooling the room in the time that it normally does. I didn’t suppose too much about it & went to bed around my normal time at 10 PM. I woke up around 3 AM & the room was hot. The window machine A/C had stopped blowing cold air all together. I turned on the fans & decided to try to go back to sleep because there was nothing I could do in the middle of the night. The next afternoon I called my landlord immediately & asked her to please have the window machine A/C repaired or replaced by the end of the afternoon. I knew that without the A/C the room would be incredibly tepid when I return from work.I was cheerful that she was able to replace the A/C while I was at work. She is a legitimately good landlord & it’s typically trying her best to get things done in a timely manner to please her tenants.
