We did our best to plan out the sale of our house and the subsequent move.
Our thinking was that we would use the sale of the family home to pare down our stuff for the next chapter of our lives.
And after 30 years of accumulating stuff in our HVAC maintained home, that was a tall order. So we decided to move into a two bedroom rental right after the sale of our home. This way, we could pare down while also deciding where we wanted to live next. At least, that was the idea. Getting the house on the market was not the easiest of tasks. We had a lot of upgrading we needed to do in our home. We started with the kitchen which ended up costing more than we thought as well as taking far longer. The HVAC equipment replacement was a better situation. The HVAC contractor was so helpful when it came to choosing good residential HVAC without going overboard either. So the new HVAC equipment was really nice. It had a heat pump with a super high SEER rating. And there was also zone controlled HVAC in the house now and a smart thermostat. This was catnip for prospective buyers stated our realtor. And it sure seemed that way. We got a great price on our home due in part to that great HVAC. Now, I would sure like to be enjoying that great HVAC instead of dealing with subpar rental HVAC equipment. This was easily the hottest summer I’ve ever spent. But thankfully, I will get that stellar HVAC equipment back in my life very soon.
