Lots has changed in the nearly 2 years since the pandemic set in.
We are finally digging our way out of the financial hole the virus put us in.
My wife and I both had to take pay cuts in order to keep our jobs. Collectively, we made nearly 30 percent less than we would have had we been working in the zone controlled HVAC of our offices. Then there’s the fact that we pretty much stayed isolated inside the air conditioning of our home until we were vaccinated. And even since, we are very careful of gathering with others we don’t know inside like a restaurant. I’m ready to get to go out to eat again! But the biggest change for me is that I am now permanently working remotely from home in the air conditioning. This simply works better for me. I was not exactly a fan of the office environment anyway. And my quality of work and production volume really went up without all the interruptions from work. So I’m happy to be at home. Plus, I have my own schedule and can get the kids where they need to be after school. I also find that I’m a lot more attentive to my family and just more in the moment as a whole. I even noticed that the HVAC unit was acting funny and called the HVAC company. Ended up that I caught a big HVAC repair early so it cost me very little to fix. Who says that being observant doesn’t pay off, right?
