I was happy and I was sad when we finally closed on the house.
Selling the family home was anything but easy.
Both physically and emotionally, it was a big challenge. There was so much to do in order to get the house on the market and sell it for its highest value. We started by upgrading the HVAC equipment. Our HVAC unit was toward the end of its life and wasn’t exactly the latest and greatest when it came to residential HVAC. So that was sort of a thing. But the HVAC company really came through for us on all that. They made what would have been an overwhelming ordeal with all the advances in HVAC technology to choose from, easy and smooth. And we needed all the easy and smooth we could get while we were selling the house. It was tough on my husband and I just to let go of the place where we raised our kids and shared so many memories. Plus, we had to pare down all of our stuff that we had accumulated over more than 25 years. That wasn’t easy either. However, we got that done and are now happy to be inside our newly finished home. We had a much smaller home built for just the two of us. And with this house, we chose to go with the geothermal heat pump for our heating and cooling needs. The geo heat pump is not only sustainable and the most efficient source for heating and cooling, it also lasts well over 30 years. So we might actually have the same HVAC unit in this house for as long as we live.
