There are some people who really get into DIY stuff when it comes to their home and their property. I’m not exactly one of them. This is not because I don’t have the interest because I do. It’s just that I really don’t have any sort of aptitude for it. When it comes to being mechanically inclined, I got declined. And this was always a big disappointment. I can remember getting out of the air conditioning to follow my dad to his garage workshop. That man could fix just about anything. And those were also the days before everything became so totally disposable as well. There wasn’t any sort of heating and cooling out in the garage workshop but I never really cared because I was in there with dad. Unfortunately, his abilities for being handy weren’t passed down to me. But dad did instill in me that there were things that were to only be handled by the professionals. And HVAC equipment was on the short list. This has always stuck with me. I’ve watched friends and neighbors make the mistake of trying a DIY fix on the air conditioning. It never works out and they either don’t fix it, misdiagnose the problem or make it worse. Plus, they run the risk of voiding the warranty on the HVAC equipment. Mine explicitly states that no one but a licenced and certified HVAC professional can work on the HVAC unit. So whenever there is any question when it comes to something with the HVAC equipment, I call the HVAC company. There is no way that I’m taking a chance with something as vital to my family’s comfort as our quality heating and air.
