Earlier this year in the springtime when the weather started heating up, the air conditioner finally quit working in our house! I was so very mad about it when it happened because I always know that things go wrong for myself and others at the most inopportune times. For instance, last fall, as soon as the weather started cooling down, the heating unit broke down in our house. I mean, what are the odds of that happening? I just feel that the universe is completely against myself and others periodically because things don’t entirely ever seem to go my way. Anyway, back in the springtime this year, I was entirely gleeful because I wanted to travel all summer long. I had a lot of money saved up and I had been planning on going on a sizable road trip. I am someone who is always looking for an adventure and so the thoughts of going out on a road trip all on my own for the summer time entirely appealed to me. However, right when the weather started heating up outside, I found out that the air conditioner in the house was finished. On the afternoon that I went to turn it on for the first time, it made an exhausting clanking sound and then this poof of black smoke undoubtedly came through the air conditioner vents in the floor upstairs! It was kind of horrifying, to tell you the truth. At first, I thought that my house was on fire. But no, it was just my central air conditioner unit breaking down and ruining my plans for the summer road trip on my own.
