It’s a boiler; not a gas furnace.

I remembered that my dad had a boiler in his house.

  • The boiler was running all year round, even though every one of us used it to heat the house.

I thought all boilers were gas furnaces, plus all furnaces were boilers. There was never any difference between the multiple, as far as I knew. The people I was with and I were putting oil in the tank to keep the boiler running in the summer, and without the boiler, there would be no sizzling water. When I met my partner, I found out he was an Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C specialist. I was telling him about our gas furnace a single afternoon, plus I said dad had been using the gas furnace for almost forty years. He told myself and others a gas furnace had a life span of only about twenty years plus I just didn’t realize what was happening when he had another gas furnace installed. I told him I wasn’t stupid, plus I knew he had the gas furnace for over forty years… Dad had been talking about having a modern gas furnace installed about a year before I met him. He was considering getting a modern style of gas furnace. My partner looked at myself and others plus then he smiled. He asked if every one of us used the ‘gas furnace’ to heat our water. That’s when he laughed plus told myself and others it’s a boiler; not a gas furnace. I didn’t believe there was a difference, until he explained what it was. I felt a bit stupid, however he told myself and others if I grew up with a boiler, I honestly would not believe the difference. A conversation that started out with us discussing a modern Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C system, plus myself and others talking about my dad’s, ended up a lesson about Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C systems.
