The craziest thing happened the other day.
A tree of all things fell on our heating and cooling system.
We are so lucky that when the tree fell it didn’t hit our house. This isn’t any small tree either, this was a sizable oak tree. This oak tree we had known for quite a long time was on its way out. Oak trees are normally big, sturdy and strong. This one was no different; it was a sizable tree. So how did a master tree fall? Well, we have lived in our home for many years and over the years we have observed that it was getting weaker. It didn’t help when a few years back it got struck by lightning. It was never the same after that and while it continued to live we observed that it looked like it was dying. Didn’t have hardly any leaves on anymore and it has not gradually started leaning more and more. We intended to have it chopped down since it was obviously almost dead, we just never got around to it. The tree was absolutely weakened and then all it took was a storm to come through and that was enough to do it in. Because that made it fall over and when it fell over it hit our heating and A/C system. Miraculously it only grazed the heating and A/C system when it fell. Most of the impact of the street still hit the ground and missed the heating and cooling system entirely. We still had to have some repairs done to our heating and A/C system. But if that thing had just been angled over our Heating and Air Conditioning component a little bit more we would have had to update our entire heating and A/C unit. We are absolutely blissful.
