My boyfriend is too nice to tell them no on a job
My boyfriend is a really handy guy when it comes to fixing things. Hand him a computer and he is useless. The guy can fix a lawn mower, install electric or deduce a HVAC repair without any hassle though. He has an extensive toolkit that he carries with him at all times. He can google and watch videos of a repair and just do it. My family has figured out how handy he is. They now have decided to call him constantly for free labor. My sister calls him all the time to help her set up the wiring in her new home. My father is constantly trying to wrangle him in to do plumbing repairs. My brother recently bought a new furnace. Rather than pay a HVAC professional to do the heater repair, he had my boyfriend do it. Did he pay my boyfriend for setting up his heating system? No, my brother did not even give him a thank you for all his time. I have decided that enough is enough. Nobody is getting free heating, cooling, electric or plumbing work out of him anymore. If they want him to do any sort of repair or installation, they need to pay him. He doesn’t need to be paid like a real HVAC contactor, just a few bucks would be nice. My boyfriend is too nice to tell them no on a job. I am going to have to be the bad guy towards my family. They are mooching way too hard off his skills so I am taking him away.
