I’ve had my old air conditioning unit for over a decade now and I was starting to get tired of it.
It had a lot of trouble cooling down even one room. I’m sure it worked great once, but it’s hard to remember that. I believe it just started working less and less efficiently over the last few years. That’s why I started looking at newer window air conditioning units online. I was discouraged to see how expensive they are until I found out that some HVAC stores pay you up to $30 if you give them your old broken down air conditioner. This is because newer air conditioners have better BTU ratings and are better for the Earth because they are less wasteful. Additionally, older air conditioning units have a certain gas in them that eats away at the atmosphere. After I discovered this, I knew there was no excuse for me not to get a new air conditioner. Not only did I need better cooling but I did not want to keep using an air conditioner that was damaging the Earth. With the rebate, in addition to energy savings, a new air conditioner might actually end up being cheaper than running this old one. I took the old air conditioner to the HVAC store and came home with a brand new air conditioner in about an hour. It took me less time to install new air conditioner than it did to take out the old one and I’m really happy with how much better this new air conditioner works.
