I think I’m a good neighbor.
- We live in a housing plan where I live.
And there are people around us. I make a point of being sure to be friendly each time I see one of my neighbors. There have been situations where I was able to lend a hand as well. But I have one neighbor across the street who I just can’t stand. I hurry to get inside the air conditioning of my house when I get home at night. It’s practically a dead run for the front door from the car so this guy won’t catch me. He’s always on and on about what I need to do and what I need to believe. It’s just the worst. Well, the other day, the guy caught me outside as I was thanking the HVAC technician for another stellar job of HVAC maintenance. The HVAC company sends out an HVAC professional twice a year to do HVAC maintenance on the HVAC equipment. I’ve been part of the HVAC service plan offered by this HVAC company since I moved to this neighborhood. This neighbor saw me out there talking to the HVAC technician and made a point of coming out to tell me what a sucker I was. His view on HVAC maintenance is pretty clear. It’s a money making scam just like all the other money making scams. He said I was stupid to pay money for HVAC maintenance. That was all it took for me to turn around and square up on this guy. He was stunned by my response and then left speechless after I succinctly put him in his place over the HVAC issue.
