I’ve always wanted to live in a house with a flat roof.
There are even drawings, from when I was a little kid, of square-shaped houses.
None of them had the A-frame seen in most residential roofs. I don’t know where I got the idea. My family always lived in a traditional house with a traditional style roof. I remember getting an argument with my sister. She used to tell me that it was impossible to have a flat roof because it would get full of water and collapse on you. But when I got older, I noticed that many of the commercial buildings in our town have flat roofs and I found out that my sister’s advice simply was not true. You can absolutely have a flat roof on your house. Butl, try as I might though, I could not find a house to buy that had a flat roof. Eventually, I just decided to buy a regular house and have a flat roof installed professionally. I called up the roofing contractors before I even closed the deal on my first house. I had them take a look and make sure what I wanted was feasible. Thankfully, it was. They recommended I have a modified bitumen roof installed. they could do all of the work themselves and it would only take a month or two. That’s what I ended up doing. I waited to move into my new house until my new bitumen roof was completely installed in my house and it was ready for me to live in. I have to say it looks really nice. And, I finally have my square shaped house.
