It finally got to the point that with all the hair, dander and fur, the HVAC air filter was getting clogged all the time.
This is the result of having so many dogs and cats inside our home.
We aren’t really out to see how many pets we can have. Actually, we’re sort of being a wayside for lost or abandoned pets til they can placed in a forever home. My wife sort of started all this when she took in some kittens she found on our property. The next thing I know, people are bringing her lost or homeless animals all the time. So much so that I don’t get to come home from work and relax in the air conditioning like I once did. There are just too many chores to be done in order to care for all the animals. However, we hit a tipping point with the HVAC air filter. I was changing it like almost weekly. The air filter was clogging up with such regularity that there was no choice but to add on a room just for the animals. With the help of some friends, we were able to put on a basic addition to the house. The HVAC company came out and installed a ductless heat pump in the new addition. This way, the animals will have their own space with their own heating and cooling. When the HVAC company found out what the ductless heat pump was for, they even donated half the price of the ductless heat pump. And they threw in the installation of the ductless heat pump for free.
