Why younger HVAC companies have the edge

These guys still think that advertising in newspapers and on billboards is a better investment than web design and Google ads

When it comes to marketing an HVAC company, I truly believe the younger people have the advantage. Bear in mind that I am using that term in context of the industry, so “younger” doesn’t mean twenty-somethings, it means forty-somethings. The old guard of this industry have been around for decades, and many of them still operate from an old-school mindset. The younger people are more tech-savvy, more aware of trends, and thus can reach out to clients more effectively. There are so many companies out there fighting for the same piece of the pie, but the young lions have the edge, and let me tell you why. Online marketing is the future of business, and young people are more tech savvy and open to trying digital marketing techniques that older people will scoff at. Old people may love to use social media like Facebook, will even spend hours a day looking at it, but still won’t try PPC ad campaigns because they don’t trust them. I talk to a lot of older folks, and not only do they not understand the concept of SEO (search engine optimization) but they have no desire to learn. These guys still think that advertising in newspapers and on billboards is a better investment than web design and Google ads. With that in mind, the older generation seems like they will quickly be devoured by the young, who fully grasp the power of social media, search engines, and web design. It is a bold new world of online marketing, you need to evolve or retire.
