Sometimes the cure is worse than the disease, isn’t that what they say? I know I’ve heard it somewhere, and I know that it sure applies to this week at the office.
Normally this is a pretty nice place to work.
It’s not a hoot and a holler or anything like that, but as far as office jobs go I’ve definitely had worse. Recently there was a change in management, and the new bosses took the opportunity to address the recurring problems the employees faced. It was a classy move, and gave us the impression they were on our side. We all told them about how bad the air conditioning system was. It was hard to tell at the time, because the meeting took place in September and we barely needed the cooling system at that time of year. During the summers, though, or any time the temperature outdoors went over 80, then it was obvious how weak and inefficient our HVAC system was. The bosses listened to us, and brought in an HVAC company the following week to look at tuning up the system. It turned out that no tune up would possibly be enough to bring this air conditioner back from the dead. Since a full AC replacement was needed, the company has had a whole squad of techs out here pulling out the old equipment and installing the new. Not only is our office hot from the lack of any kind of cooling at all, but thanks to these workers banging around it’s also too loud to work.
